This thing is a particle accelerator, a pretty massive one. It is 23KM long, in some parts of it, it is bigger than seen stories. Lying under the Franco-Swiss border, it is a project from CERN, European Organization for Nuclear Research.
Basically the main purpose of this "little" thing is to explore the validity and limitations of the standard model. Basically this works based on Einstein's famous equation of E=MC^2, which means that Energy is equal to the mass multiplied by the square of the speed of light. Still confused?
Well it means that the larger amount of mass you get in there, bigger will be the amount of energy released. If their experiences with it are sucessful, then we will have a major breakthrough in science, as this would have lots of practical uses.
If it fails, and there is only a small hypotheses of that happening(read almost none, as the odds are certainly not bigger than those of winning the lottery) a catastrophic black hole could emerge and suck the Earth into it.
The scientists really don't know what can happen when they turn it on.

Thoughts?
And once more this isn't a thread to scare the crap out of you, as many of you might not even be into the Quantum Physics theories and stuff.
*Play Snake on your mobile
Yes, it's true that your mobile phone might be the only reliable alarm clock left in the house and that if the outage continues after bedtime there's no reliable means of rousing yourself for work the following morning, but there's no better use of your limited battery power than testing your reflexes against the ubiquitous and addictive Nokia serpent-steering game.
*Ditto on the beer. It's getting warm. For that matter eat every biscuit, cake, and piece of fruit in the house
*Go outside and start a roller skate circle in the intersection. Traffic's not moving anyway.
*Replace your sonic electric toothbrush with the old-fashioned hand-crank kind.

*Fold and tape sheets of lined notebook paper into fans. Stand out on the street selling them for a dollar.

I'm sure some of you might have seen some of Ashka's A.S.S videos where he interviews characters that mostly are in Tomb Raider or have something to do with it.
Ashka started to render 3D models on 3DStudio MAX. He then came up with the idea of trying to animate his models. He’s a big fan of Tomb Raider, such as I, so he made this interview show hosted on YouTube using his own personal dark humour. I voiced Lara Croft for him in his first video, which has become very popular in Tomb Raider forums.
I always voice Lara Croft on his videos and I do the occasional American advertiser, such as the advert for mAngelina's makeup.
I know who do the rest of the voices, but I don't know if I'm allowed to tell. Ash voices himself as many of the other characters on the show.
Also, check out the Kurtis Trent interview. Great voice!

For a long time I actually thought that the Cafe guy, Pierre, was supposed to have only half a face - because that's all he has on my version of the game

Half of his face is cast in shadow and the other half is not much more than an eyeball minus the socket and other features! I honestly thought he'd been attacked by the Monstrum or something but then I wondered why Lara gave no mention of it when conversing with him.

It seems there is a glitch that needs patching BUT....I actually don't want to patch it. He looks really menacing and adds a real eerieness to the whole Parisian levels

What is your one favourite level from each of the TR games (anything up to AoD and including expansions if you have played them)?

Here are mine (feel free to elaborate as to why you like the levels you do):

TR1: The Lost Valley - Simply because it was so vast with lots to explore.

TR2: Venice - Because after the first level it seemed so vibrant and having been to Venice it just felt so nostalgic. I like the music and the birdsong and the fact it's so bright and colourful (and it was my first experience of a 'vehicle' as in the boat

TR3: Aldwych: Okay so it can be a tedious level on subsequent plays but on first playing it felt ambient and rather eerie. Confronting the train that first time was awesome and just a bit shocking as it was so unexpected

The Lost Artefact: Shakespeare Cliff - Seeing the infamous White Cliffs of Dover from afar was fantastic, as was getting the chance to explore the Channel Tunnel up close and personal. Plus there's that little dinosaur and lava area hidden away (I missed it on the first few plays)!

TR4: Desert Railroad - Simply because it was rather innovative to get to ride the train and jump from carriage to carriage during combat whilst trying not to fall off

TR5 (Chronicles): The Submarine - Wow, so much to explore. Again, a very ambient and inventive level. I also like the Sinking Sub as I felt the pressure to get off was on! I seriously felt like the thing was going to sink whilst I was faffing about trying to find that last key and trying not to get electrocuted, fired at or burnt alive. Oh and I thought Lara's Beanie hat was rather amusing

So, how about you Raiders?

I was sat outside on Mum's front bench working on some paperwork, leaning on a tray on Friday afternoon. I was wearing cropped summer trousers and deep in thought as I worked when some insect flew up my left trouser leg (they only come down to just below the knee)

Instinctively, I put half my hand up my trouser to quickly shoo it away and instantly felt this horrendous pain. Initially I thought I had gashed the left underside of my knee with one of my dress rings so pulled the trouser back and looked down waiting to see this nasty cut but nothing. It was burning and so painful that I thought I'd taken two layers of skin off in one foul swoop and it was yet to start bleeding.

The pain was agonising and I suddenly realised I'd been had by something and, realising the critter could be trapped in my clothing I leapt up, threw the tray and screamed whilst doing a Morris dance about the front path!!

Mum came running out asking if I was all right and I told her I'd been stung. She told me to remove my kecks whilst she got cotton wool and vinegar (She's not had to soothe her child's knee for many years LOL!!). The moment she began dabbing (I was shaking like a leaf!), the sting started to show and what a huge hole it had made. Just then a second one started to show on the knee itself but the pain from the first was so excrutiating I hadn't even felt the second bite. My whole lower limb was swollen over the weekend but is subsiding now and the itching has set in.

I'm tempted to think two flew up, a wasp and a bee. That first one was way too painful for a wasp bite, I've never felt pain like that from a wasp. The mark has crusted over it was that big a puncture.

I'll never wear those trousers again in the same spot that's for sure - near a Honeysuckle bush I believe. It left a lot of poison in there, my leg was solid, red and sore Mum said I was very brave as I didn't make too much fuss after the initial panic!!

I'd go for cat eyes because wearing specs can sometimes be a pain, and seeing in the dark would just rock! Maybe even cat ears, but cleaning them might turn out to be... weird.

Some of you might know me, or not , from TRF...
I am hoping that i can have some fun around here, and honestly that the discussions around here don't turn into flame wars, as seen on other places...

Well, the reason why i'm a fan of TR? Well i pretty much grew up playing it, being the first game i played, TR3.
After that TR2, then TR4, 5, and stopped there for some time. Then got Legend, became highly disappointed with it. Lost all my hopes to get a good game when finished it in 5 hours.
